ArcGIS I: Introduction to GIS

This course provides the foundation for understanding what a GIS is, fundamental concepts, basic functions, the properties of GIS maps and the structure of a GIS database. In the exercises,you will develop the basic skills working with ArcGIS Desktop tools to visualize geographic data, create maps, query a GIS database and analyze data using common analysis tools.

Prerequisites

This course is for those without education or work experience in GIS. Managers and GIS support staff who occasionally use ArcGIS Desktop and need to understand how GIS fits within your organization.
